This year, each of us has had to redefine the way we work, play and live. We’ve stretched ourselves to unimaginable limits through unfathomable circumstances. There have been setbacks, uncertainty, confusion and stress. None of us has been unaffected.
But there has also been strength, courage, community and hope.
To align with the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, Maryland had declared 2020 to be the Year of the Woman. In Frederick County, we would like to revise that. For everything we’ve faced and triumphed over, we believe 2020 to be the Year of the Resilient Woman.
S.H.E Week 2020 will celebrate this resiliency.
The women in our community have been standing up and standing strong in the face of adversity. It is about the courage to endure your circumstances, to respond with grace, power and grit, to learn from and to lean on your peers. And it will take resiliency to rebuild ourselves and our community. |
